April Blog
This is the 17th year I've been putting out a monthly newsletter-now-called-blog (!) I've written information that has been channeled through me by my Spirit Guides. Whether or not I have been traveling, had the flu, etc. Except for February and March of this year. Between several business trips (including two lengthy overseas), a writing project, more radio shows than usual for Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day, I was incredibly uber-busy. I was surprised at how many people emailed me asking why I hadn't produced anything, that they missed my blog. It means a lot to me. As I mentioned in January, every year has a cosmic theme to it, with each month having a part to play within the theme. This month's theme, like January's, is related to a sophisticated level of what we generally call "hope" (you might want to go back and read what I wrote in January re this topic. . .). The aspect for April is about transformation. It will be a lot easier to get into this month's aspect of hope; in part because virtually everyone feels a sensation of hope in Springtime; all life is transformed in Spring. Hope is literally built into the Divine Plan integrated within the four seasons. The old adage "Spring is a new beginning," is a reflection of this. Like Bette Midler's song of inspiration about hope, The Rose ("That with the sun's love, in the spring become the rose"). Also animals' hibernation during the winter produces adorable Spring babies of their species; grass shoots up; flowers blossom and often fill the air with wonderful scents: Everyone's heart center opens up, observing baby animals, new flowers and blossoms (representing new life). Both the opening of the heart center and floral scents connect as a sense of joy that directly affects endorphins of the brain, causing them to release more. . . which makes us happier. And more hopeful! In addition, as we experience more sunlight through longer days, we experience higher serotonin and endorphin levels. This also creates more happiness - - and more hope. Another aspect of the newness of life is innocence-inspiring hope, which replaces literal decay from the winter. . . mind over matter. "Mind", here, meaning more serotonin and endorphins and other mood elevators: "Matter" meaning here - - literal matter of body decay. Light coming forth at the end of a dark winter makes us feel that there is light for us at the end of the proverbial dark tunnel. Ie.- - hope. There has been more reason - and even need - than usual to grasp onto hope this particular spring. For one, this past winter has been particularly brutal for people across the Northern Hemisphere; in the U.K., much of the U.S., all across Europe; ditto Canada. Besides massive storms, there have been major floods, landslides, snowstorms in areas that never get snow, etc. I am being told by my Spirit Guides that at least 38% of people throughout the Northern Hemisphere gave up the will to live, at least at some point; it was that bad Now clearly not 38% died. However, literally many more long term illnesses than usual have begun within very depressed people, and a disproportionate number of relationships ended: people just not able to cope this particular winter, in large part because they were already so traumatized over the economic crisis. This is a very important Spring to work with hope, to capitalize on transforming everything in our lives (more on this in coming months). A pragmatic, simple way of beginning to work with this is to "dump" anything and everything you owned if you were depressed during this past winter. Such as old slippers, nightwear, towels, sheets, and food items in your cupboard, etc. Anything you have hanging around your home that you had when laid low still carries the emotions you were going through during that time. Even if you wash bedding or clothing, the way that our psyches work, you'll constantly be reminded of how you felt when you had those on or around you during depressing times. If money is tight, just buy one new set of sheets, one new set of towels, and a few new lounging items for your home. You'll be amazed at what a difference it makes. Have cut flowers around; most grocery stores have daffodils and other spring flowers at very inexpensive prices. I always say that everything counts: even adding a few flowers will lighten your mood. I suggest that you add Vitamin D supplements to your diet, as well as spend more time outside letting sunshine permeate you. |
Affirmations for April I am grateful for longer days, more sunlight, and the newness of life all around. I love my renewed sense of hope! Hope restores the sense of purpose to my life. I feel alive and well. Everyday, I have a greater understanding and awareness of what hope truely means. Everyday, I am hopeful, happy and grateful for all I have. Each month I channel anywhere from one to several affirmations. My Spirit Guides continually let me know that anyone working with the affirmations in my newsletter will see faster results than the affirmations usually provide. I have several dozen Spirit Guides who assist anyone who works with these particular affirmations; they enhance the outcome of whatever the affirmation is about by at least 2 times, up to 6-7 times. Saying affirmations on a daily basis is a very effective tool in creating what you want. Constantly repeating positive thoughts eventually WILL transform your thinking patterns and therefore your belief system…One of the phrases I’m most known for, is, “What you believe—you create.” Another way of saying this is that as you start to believe you deserve more, you’ll create more. There are many schools of thought on how long it takes an affirmation to finally work. I believe it is different for each person, and for each area of life we want to transform. Having said that, what I have observed over the past few decades is that saying an affirmation 15-35 times per day will “bear fruit” (i.e., begin to show up in your life) in anywhere from 7 weeks to 4 months. When you speak your affirmations, you are giving instructions to your subconscious mind. How quickly your subconscious mind accepts these thoughts as a new reality depends on many factors: your state of health, how new the topic is to your life, how much stress you are under, how much spiritual work you’ve done on yourself, etc. Always state affirmations in the positive. For example: if you’re wanting to increase money that comes to you, state something such as, “Money comes easily to me. I always have a constant flow of money into my checking account.” DON’T say something such as, “I will never worry about my checks bouncing again.” Do be specific: make sure that you state exactly what it is you want. For example, if you are working on manifesting a partner in life, be sure to include aspects such as he/she being “geographically desirable” (in other words not living across the continent, or in another country), prosperous, healthy, supportive, and–single. (That last aspect can be critically important!)
